Harlem Clutch1

My favorite kind of shopping is when I’m actually not looking for anything, and something really fantastic catches my eye.  That’s what happened when I was walking across 125th Street yesterday.  I saw those beautiful clutches in the photo above, and they made me smile.  They’re at Paradise Fashions at 27 West 125th Street, which also has a couple of other boutiques in New York as well as an online store.  Those handbags are $100, but there are some lower cost options like these for $39.

HarlemClutch3And many come with matching shoes.  I really love shopping on 125th Street, but you can also order these online if you can’t make it into the city.  Paradise has many more cute clutches that I didn’t take pictures of.  Just looking at all of them brightened my day.

Fashionmomix loves Michelle Obama’s style but can’t afford her designer duds.  But help is on the way!  Back in 2009, Michelle wore some outfits by Sophie Theallet.  Now the designer has a lower priced line inspired by the First Lady that’s available at The Limited.  Check out Michelle’s dresses and compare to The Limited’s line.

Pretty close huh?  The collection isn’t available in stores until March 20th but is available online now.  At $118, these dresses aren’t cheap.  But they could be a good investment, since they’re not too trendy that you can’t wear them season after season.  And some of the accessories are more affordable.  Take these two clutches on sale for $35.94.

I myself will probably buy this cuff bracelet for $26.90.

We can now see the full line up of the Maison Martin Margiela collection for H&M courtesy of Refinery 29.  I love it, but I don’t love that very few items are under $100.  In addition to the gloved purse you see above, I want this shoe.

And what mother wouldn’t check out this crazily named ‘car seat cover dress’?

I wish the collection wouldn’t sell went it arrives on November 15th so I could get some bargains, but these clothes are too cool and that’s not going to happen.

One of my friends recently asked how she could update her fall wardrobe.  That’s where Mr. Rogers comes in.  Check him out rocking this cardigan in one of fall’s hot colors, mustard.  Getting some cardigans in the latest stylish shades is an inexpensive way to update your old outfits.  Mr. Rogers knows what he’s doing.

Here he is in another popular color, dark green.  While Mr. Rogers makes it look easy, you too can achieve this look.  Try this knit from Zara.

And this mustard top from Ann Taylor Loft.

A clutch is another great way to add color.  Blood red and plum are also big this fall.  These clutches from Hobo don’t exactly come in those shades, but I think they’re hot nonetheless.

You can purchase the Katrina Hobo on the left here, and the Clio Hobo on the right here.

As for this accessory that Mr. Rogers has, I’m not sure where you can pick up one of these.
